Alberto Ferreras is a NYC based Spanish/Venezuelan/American writer, director and creative consultant.
His award-winning novel “B as in Beauty” (Hachette, 2009) was published in the U.S. Spain, and Italy.
He made his debut as a screenwriter with the feature “Que Viva La Música” (Sundance 2015).
He is the creator of “Somos”, the first commissioned piece of the Museum of the American Latino, and the HBO documentary series “Habla” (2003-2022).
He is also the creator of “The Lessons”, an award winning collection of short films. His “Lesson #7” was acquired by HBO in 2019. He is co-creator of the bilingual animated children’s series “El Perro y el Gato” for HBO Family (2004 – 2011). His short films “Verbal Sex” (1999) and “Tómbola” (1997) premiered at the Berlinale, and “Bigger” (2004) premiered at Outfest in the US, and London’s BFI in Europe.
He is currently Creative Executive in Residence for Así Studios, Televisa-Univision’s branded content unit.
